Letter to Wyatt at Summer Camp #1

Dear Wyatt,
First of all, you should know that I’m going to post my emails to you on blog because I’m too busy to make two of these reports.

Today was the first day you were gone/gone, but I should recap and tell you we did return Honey Bear and it was fine. We napped a lot that day though. It was exhausting sending you away and sending the cat away. With you I feel good about what you’re doing and I miss you. With the cat, after we wrestled him into the carrier (Daddy did it by grabbing his scruff and just dropping him into the carrier), we both just felt sad and tired and hungry.

The shelter was really nice though, helmed by two teenage girls. Immediately a small, beautiful tortoiseshell cat came right up to me and was very friendly. There were friendly cats everywhere and then a while room full of kittens. The girls were super nice and I left them the carrier, which was cracking and we hate it, so I felt guilty leaving it for them. But they said I should. It was the first time I got to pet so many cats in months, since HB. I thanked the girls for not making me feel like a jerk for returning him.

Daddy is not going to Nashville to meet with the Right Wing. He just can’t. I actually couldn’t see him doing it in the first place, so that is fine.

What else? Daisy’s friend came over today and they made brownies. Gross. We watched Russian Doll and it was good. It’s so rainy and awful. I had a huge chat with the elderly lady on the top of the block and I’m going to ask the neighbor up the street to have a drink tomorrow night. She probably won’t but I’m having a drink with the cat sitter on Thursday night and your dad is making me go to a Greek play on Wednesday night. It better be good.

Love,
mom
